Learn more about becoming a teacher through TFA Connecticut for the 2024-2025 school year.

Teach For America (TFA) Connecticut is building a teacher recruitment pipeline that will reflect the identities of the students in the communities we serve. We are actively recruiting college students and college graduates who are interested in teaching in Connecticut as soon as the 2024-2025 school year.

About TFA
TFA finds, develops, and supports a diverse network of leaders dedicated to expanding access and opportunity for children. These leaders begin with two years of teaching in an under-resourced public school. Informed and inspired by their students, TFA alumni continue to advocate for children from classrooms, schools, and every sector shaping school systems.

About TFA-CT
Since 2006, TFA Connecticut has played a leading role in the movement for education equity, serving as a talent pipeline for our largest urban districts, attracting over 1,000 diverse and passionate teachers. Many of our TFA-CT teachers commit to making a lasting impact by becoming leaders in education and in the communities we serve.

The Teach For America (TFA) Corps application includes two short answer questions, and your responses are a valuable opportunity to bring to life your accomplishments and desire for impact in the movement for educational equity.

Several TFA corps members and alumni volunteers who have successfully navigated the application process in the past have volunteered to facilitate small groups of 4-6 people who, like you, are interested in applying to TFA and pursuing equity-based work.

You'll have the chance to share your initial thinking (whether that's a full rough draft, bullet points, or just general ideas), receive feedback from your facilitator, and, after an hour of collaboration time with other prospective applicants, you'll emerge with stronger short answer responses!
